Volume 18 Issue 6 — March/April 2013

What an amazing winter! We have had much more snow than the year before and the cloud cover has hung over the province for so long, we rarely have seen the sun. I am ready for spring, may it arrive early, as predicted by the groundhog. I look forward to sitting on the deck and soaking up some glorious sunshine, without wearing a coat. Having been a city gal my whole life, each day living in the country is a new experience full of many challenges as well as delights. Sometimes I feel like a pioneer clearing the snow for a place to stack the wood, splitting some pieces each day, and hauling it into the house, then keeping the fire going so the house is warm. It is like having a full-time job. When I take the time to listen to the quiet and stillness all around me, I feel a deep connection to the land and nature and all the life forces of which I am apart. It is quite magical and brings a sense of peace inside me, which I cherish.

This issue you are reading completes my eighteenth year of publishing WHOLifE Journal. It feels like a huge milestone for me. It is the longest I have ever worked at any one job in my life and I believe that is because I enjoy both the work and being self-employed. I am very grateful that the journal has been so well supported over all these years. Many of the advertisers and writers have been with me since the beginning and I thank you all for your support. It feels like I have a gigantic family of like-minded people whom I love and with whom I enjoy connecting. It is very comforting and for this I feel truly blessed.

Thanks to all of you who stopped by the WHOLifE booth at the Saskatoon Wellness Expo, February 8 to 10. Although I wasn’t able to be there due to working on the production of this issue, the feedback that was received by our representative, Carol Marriott, was extremely positive, encouraging, and supportive. I am grateful there are so many folks who are appreciative of the journal and the work that goes into creating it. It is a labour of love and all those who contribute to it are part of the magical process and deserve kudos, too.

As we continue to evolve in this new year of 2013, I am noticing how much the energy in our world is shifting and changing. People everywhere are waking up and getting in touch with their true selves and feeling brave enough to peacefully and gently express what is inside them. It is particularly evident in recent events such as the “Idle No More” and “Occupy” movements. It feels like every individual on the planet is connecting with every other one, and what better way to have world peace than to join together in oneness. All the barriers that were there are falling down or being torn down and the truth is being set free, as we discover that we all are made of the same stuff and want to be loved, happy, and peaceful. These are exciting times.

All these changes appear to be bringing more healers and healing modalities into the province, as well as elsewhere in the country and the world. Things associated with natural health and wellness have definitely increased here since I started in 1995. I am impressed by the wealth of interesting and informative articles that are being submitted these days, and I am happy and grateful to be able to pass this information on to our readers. I encourage people to continue to submit their ideas and articles, so readers can have access to the knowledge they provide.

This issue contains a wide variety of advertisements and articles that are lovingly presented to you as gifts, meant to be for the highest good of all. Within these pages, may you find something that happily surprises you, that encourages you, that uplifts you, that makes you laugh, that brings tears of joy, that pleases you, that changes you, that empowers you, that nurtures you, or that makes you want to jump up and dance and sing with joy.

I look forward to any feedback you might feel inspired to send me. I love to hear from our readers, so don’t hesitate to send your thoughts my way.

May the return of spring and the light lift your spirit and fill your heart with love.

Happy spring solstice! May peace prevail on earth!

Namaste
(The Spirit in me honours the Spirit in you)
