Sprouts: A Powerhouse of Nutrition

Sprouts have been a vital source of nutrition for numerous civilizations over the past 5,000 years. They are a powerhouse of nutrition, having the highest amount of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes of any food per calories unit. Wheatgrass juice is the closest known thing to hemoglobin and is therefore a phenomenal blood purifier and liver detoxifier. Sprouts are 10 to 20 times more nutritious than their mother vegetables.

Amazing Healing for Acute and Chronic Conditions

Many Canadians are surprised to learn that homeopathy is the fastest growing medical treatment system, according to the Indian Chamber of Commerce, where it is mainstream. Switzerland recently announced their intention to integrate it into their healthcare system which will include a number of holistic practices. Homeopathy has stood the test of time dating back 200+ years. The British Royal Family relies upon it as their primary healing method. It is my impression that the enormous healing potential of homeopathy is not completely understood even by those who routinely use it. For example, some people think of homeopathy for acute situations such as colds and the flu. Most have no idea that their chronic illness may be better served by homeopathy than over-the-counter or possibly even prescription drugs they currently use. In addition, people whose chronic conditions vastly improved using homeopathy may be completely unaware of it efficacy in acute situations. In my practice, I have witnessed needless suffering when there are homeopathic options that would make a significant difference. Below are some eye-opening examples.

Creating Your Own Ceremony

When I first met Sarah and Simon at the local cafe, their excitement was palpable. They wanted to have a commitment ceremony without any legal ties because Sarah’s divorce was not final. However, they weren’t sure if there was anyone who would do that for them in the community. They found me when they stumbled upon our Saskatoon Unitarians’ website and were thrilled at the opportunity to connect on this level. They were clear that they wanted to work with me to find meaningful words that would reflect their unique relationship and deep love for each other. Sarah and Simon shared their ideas and vision for a ceremony with me. They wanted to incorporate some elements of a traditional wedding such as sharing of the vows and a ring exchange, without the religious underpinnings that usually go with that. They wanted their ceremony to have meaning, to resonate with their spiritual beliefs and values. I suggested various resources that they could choose from such as readings, music, poetry, and rituals, and with their input I crafted a ceremony to fit their vision. We were all pleased and confident with the choices. The end result of this creative collaboration was a unique ceremony that perfectly reflected their relationship and hopes for the future.

Welcome to the 22nd anniversary issue of WHOLifE Journal. For me it has been another enjoyable and uniquely memorable year. No two years are alike, and I love working and sharing with all the people I meet. I feel truly blessed that this work brings me so much joy and happiness. I look forward to another year of putting together each issue along with the help and generous contributions of so many talented and health-conscious people who believe in natural ways of maintaining wholeness and wellness of the body, mind, spirit, and environment. WHOLifE is meant to be a vehicle for everyone to use to keep the community informed about all things whole and healthy. Thank you to everyone for supporting me over these many years.
