100 Pounds Loss in 165 Days: It’s Been Life Changing!
by Steve Hurley

“I stepped off the scale and then back on. Yup, it was true. Just under 400 lbs at the age of 49. That was the first day of my new life. The trigger went off!”

My story starts in the early 1990s when I travelled the world as a professional wrestler, thinking I was in the best shape of my life. Man, was I wrong. I was part of an industry that had me flying around the world, wrestling in front of thousands of people on live TV tapings, and all the way down to local venues in remote communities. My biggest gratitude was being able to wrestle in local First Nation communities across Canada. I would spend hours driving, sometimes on winter roads, across frozen lakes and logging roads, just to get to the community. It was all worth it once we were there.

Fast forward to 2018. There was a time in my life when, like most people, I woke up on January 1st with a sore head from the festivities from the night before. Lying in bed and looking at the ceiling, I said to myself, “This year I’m going to get healthy.” That day I went on the internet and looked at prices for gyms, fitness centres, etc. I looked at health sites that offered fat-burning pills and systems. Honestly, I was looking for a quick fix. After about 45 minutes, I talked myself into waiting until I found the “right” quick fix…sound familiar?

Unfortunately, after a few days, my desire to get healthy was gone. Months later, April 2018, I was in my doctor’s office getting a number of follow-up tests done. It’s funny how that works, the more weight we gain, the more visits to the doctor’s office. I decided to step on the scale. My heart sunk, 176 kg (388 lbs). That can’t be right, I told myself. I stepped off the scale and then back on. Yup, it was true. Just under 400 lbs at the age of 49. That was the first day of my new life. The trigger went off!

Moving forward to May 2018. After having a few conversations with a close family friend, I decided to give a nutritional cleansing program a try. I said, “I will keep an open mind to your shake program.” I started with the 30-day program and, let me tell you, we all have different results. For me to lose 10 lbs, 20 lbs, or 30 lbs would have been a huge win. Today, March 2019, I’ve released 155 lbs and counting. Losing fat and maintaining muscle. It’s been LIFE CHANGING!

You’re probably saying 155 lbs in less than a year is unheard of. I say that to myself every day. It’s amazing what great nutrition does to a body. It’s all about the 80/20 rule. 80% nutrition and 20% proper diet and exercise. The folks around me, both online and close to me, are extremely supportive. The love and support from everyone is outstanding. I’ve been taken in by another family to be by my side for the next step of my vision and journey. The support and community is beyond words.

Within the program, I’ve been accepted into the 100 Pound club. I’m humbled to be part of this group of individuals who have worked so hard to reach these milestones. It shows you that regardless of your goals, everyone is here to support and reward you on your accomplishments. No agendas, just giving back. “Sharing is Caring” and that’s a true statement from the top down.

I share my story to help folks look for healthy nutrition alternatives. This is not a diet program; it’s a lifestyle that’s changing people’s worlds. All folks are different and everyone’s results are different based on their lifestyle goals and targets. If you’re interested in chatting about your story or have questions, feel free to look me up on Facebook or Instagram, or email steve.hurley@shaw.ca.

Today I work with local groups facilitating workshops on alternative nutrition lifestyle options. If you are interested, please contact me at your convenience. Regardless of your challenges or questions, I will be happy to discuss the products and programs with you. I’m free to chat or speak to anyone on what I’ve done to be successful. I’m here to give back. Thank you to all who continue to support me through my journey.
Until the next milestone, stay healthy.
