Wise Woman Celebration

Celebrating the Changes in Women's Lives

Theme: Beauty, Power and Wisdom

The Wise Woman Celebration is a new event that has been created to honour and celebrate the beauty, power and wisdom of women. Those who wish to join us for this inaugural Saskatchewan celebration will have a variety of playshops from which to choose that are intended to provide opportunities for personal growth and development, as well as a time to gather with other women and celebrate the many changes we experience in our lives.


Friday Evening–Special Performance:

Triatrix: A multi-disciplinary performance incorporating chant, poetry, music and dance on the themes of maiden/ mother/ crone and the creative aspects of these three stages of women’s lives by Lia Pas and Paulette Bibeau of Saskatoon.


Wise Woman Celebration Playshops:

Soul Sabbath: Coming Home to One’s Self–A sacred pause to rekindle energy stored deep within the soul. Presenters: Carol Stevenson Seller and Margaret Morgan McKechney, Saskatoon

Shiatsu (Japanese Massage)–During this workshop we will learn how to give and receive a relaxation Shiatsu Massage. Wear thin, flexible clothing or shorts or bathing suits and bring a blanket or large towel to lay on. Presenter: Su Cooke, Regina

Sacred Spaces: Allow The Ordinary to Become Extraordinary–Outer surroundings mirror the conditions of our life. Our homes, offices, car and yard are all extentions and reflections of ourselves. We can influence what happens in our life when we arrange our spaces to be in harmony with natural order. Embrace this truth and journey into your own Sacred Spaces in this playshop! (Bring a diagram of your space). Presenter: Patricia Barclay, Saskatoon

I Love Me! We Love Us!–Sharing explicitly from her own life and work with Core Belief Engineering Fay Minifie will lead the participants through some exercises in self-discovery. She believes in the innate perfect wholeness of each individual and is devoted to aiding in the search for that wholeness in herself and others using Core Belief Engineering as a tool. Presenter: Fay Minifie, Saskatoon

The Joy of Maiden, Mother, Crone–Humour and joy are sacred because they are so healing. Joyful spirit exists in all of us and helps us to hear the wisdom of Maiden, Mother and Crone. Join Cathy in experiencing humour as wisdom, humour as prayer. Presenter: Cathy Fenwick, Regina

Reflecting the Feminine Divine–The Feminine Divine, long known by the world’s wise, is returning to collective awareness. [Re]-Acquaint yourself with Her and reflect Her beauty! Through imaging, imagining, sacred ritual and women’s stories, this playshop invites you to explore and enhance your sense of self as Woman. Please bring meaningful feminine images for the altar and perhaps a story to share. Presenter: Barb Wieler, Saskatoon

The Healing Power of Sound–We will expore the capacity of sound to affect us and heal us on every level: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Presenter: Heather Prince, Beechy

Awakening Your Spirit to Life–There are no deadlines on your life’s journey, it has no beginning or end, it starts where you are right now. Through Shamanic techniques, drumming, chanting and movement let us Reawaken the Joy, the Knowing and the Love. Presenter: tessera nova, Saskatoon

Laughing, Dancing and Moving into Meditation–Partricia Smith will share her meditation experiences from the Osho Ashram in Puna, India. Participants will experience a few of the innovative movement-based meditation techniques during the session. Presenter: Patricia Smith, Saskatoon

the soundbody–an adventurous exploration into your own sounds and movements. We will explore how we hear and make sounds and how we experience movement using various games and techniques including ecstatic movement, chakra toning, moving with the breath, and gibberish games. Presenters: Paulette Bibeau and Lia Pas, Saskatoon

Maiden Goddess(Beauty)–She is raw and untamed, the material from which we can shape what is to be. Presenter: Beata Van Berkom, Saskatoon

Mother Goddess(Power)–She is the source of all creation, passion and life. Presenter: Debra Stobbe, Clavet

Crone Goddess(Wisdom)–She is the teacher or the wise one as she shines the light of wisdom for all to see. Presenter: Sharon Rose, Regina

7:30 - 10:00 Evening Celebration: We will gather to celebrate our time together, our sacredness, the divinity of women and the aliveness of Mother Earth. Closing Ritual.



Let the call draw you and the celebrating begin!

The celebration will begin with an opening ceremony lead by tessera nova on Friday evening followed by a special multi-disciplinary performance titled Triatrix by Lia Pas and Paulette Bibeau, which depicts the maiden, mother and crone. The playshop presenters will give a short explanation about their playshops which will be held on Saturday. The rest of the evening will be filled with music, dancing, singing, drumming and much laughter and letting down of our hair.

Saturday will begin with an Opening Celebration in which Sharon Rose of Regina will weave the beauty of the Three-Fold Goddess (Maiden, Mother, Crone) for the entire group. Following this there will be a variety of concurrent playshops from which to choose both morning and afternoon. Saturday evening will be a time for all the participants and presenters to gather and weave together and share the experiences from the playshops and all their wise woman celebration experiences. The evening will end with closing ceremonies lead by tessera nova.

Lunch and dinner on Saturday will be included in the participants' fees. The cost is $75 by June 10 and $85 (+gst) thereafter.
