What You Need to Know About IRIDOLOGY
by Marina Cummins
Audrey Doepker

“The Iris, Sclera, and Pupil of the eye show the veil the soul has created, through consciousness (or forgetfulness), that reflects the illusion which prepares the soul for attaining the reality of full enlightenment.”
—David J. Pesek, PhD, Holistic Iridology and Institute of Iridology Founding President

The study of the eye markings originated in Asia thousands of years ago. More intensive research occurred during the 16th century, and the first serious breakthrough was made by Ignaz von Peczely (Hungarian doctor, 1826–1911).

Nature has provided us with an invaluable insight into the vital status of the health of the body by transmitting this information to the eye. The science of Iridology is based on the analysis of one of the most complicated tissue structures of the whole body: the iris. It is a method whereby the doctor or health practitioner can tell, from markings or signs in the iris, the reflex condition of various organs and systems of the body. These markings represent a detailed picture of the integrity of the body, its constitutional strength, areas of congestion or toxic accumulations, and inherent strengths and weaknesses.

How do markings appear in the eye? The physical body contains a large, complex web of nerves that originate in the organs, connect through the spine, and terminate in the brain. The nervous system stores information and the eyes serve as a monitor, displaying markings that correspond to what is happening in the body.

Contrary to Western medicine’s “mechanical” approach, in which the body is seen as a collection of organs to be treated separately by doctors specializing in each organ, iridologists regard a person as a whole—a totality of body/psyche/spirit that cannot be split into separate entities. If something happens on one level, it instantly affects the next level in descending order—psyche/mind to emotion and then to the physical body. All of the various glands, organs, and structures of the body have vibrational frequencies that predominantly resonate with particular thoughts and emotions. The ability to identify the markings, link the information with the location of the various organs shown on the iridology chart, and the skill of combining knowledge of the body’s pathology with this information enables iridology specialists to use the data displayed in the eye to diagnose how the body is functioning. Unhealthy thoughts and emotions adversely affect our DNA as well as our physical health with dis-ease and disease. To understand how dis-ease develops in the human body, we must first understand what is going on in the organs, bloodstream, nervous system, circulatory system, and glands in order to bring about the changes that culminate in disease.

Iris analysis can uncover hereditary predispositions to degenerative conditions and early pathogenesis decades before symptoms occur or conventional diagnostic testing may reveal. Iridology enables us to do a quick, painless, non-invasive data check using simple tools. Each eye gives us different information.

What Iridology Can Reveal

  • Constitution—potential of the congenital structure
  • Organ and system weakness
  • Genetic—the organism’s inherited characteristics
  • Hyperactivity and hypoactivity of organs/glands
  • Blood circulation
  • Toxicity levels of various bodily systems
  • Inflammation
  • Acidity/Alkalinity
  • Precancerous indications
    …and more.

Marina Cummins has a Diploma of Holistic Iridology from the International Institute of Iridology, North Carolina, USA. Mindful Living is a place in Saskatoon where she practises Holistic Iridology Analysis, Reiki Levels 1 & 2, and Life Balance Energy sessions. She loves to direct her clients toward a healthy lifestyle that helps bring awareness to the root cause of dis-ease within the body.
