Volume 21 Issue 5 — January/February 2016
by Melva Armstrong

It has been a really busy two months since the last issue. Life just keeps adding more things to my to-do list, when I haven’t yet completed what is already on it. I know that nearly everyone I ask says they are experiencing the same kind of overwhelming feeling that there isn’t enough time to complete everything they want to. I remember hearing well-known author Marianne Williamson say, there are now less spaces between each event and that’s why we are feeling the speeding up of time. I guess I just have to get used to always being one step behind, because I have a suspicion it isn’t going to get any slower.

It has been a lovely mild autumn thus far and I think the people of this province really deserve it. The official winter has just started on December 21st, and we can keep our fingers crossed that the milder temperatures will continue until spring. It will be greatly appreciated if that happens.
I trust you all had a wonderful festive season, sharing lots of good conversations, good food, and good company. It is always a lovely time of year to get together with friends and family, to share gifts and to enjoy each other’s company. There’s something still precious about the December holiday season, no matter what form it takes for each individual and no matter what your beliefs are. As that 1963 song title says, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!” May you all be full of the goodness and joy that touched you and made your heart sing. It is so important to feel the love that surrounds us and to know that we are all connected with each other on a deep level. May we all bring our love and joy with us into the new year and help to bring about peace on earth.

As one year ends and a new one begins, I’d like to thank all those people who have been part of WHOLifE Journal in 2015, as well as those who have been part of it for many years. There are advertisers and subscribers who have been with me since I started in 1995. You know who you are and that I am truly grateful for your long-time support. May the angels bless and shine their light on every one of you who are part of my WHOLifE family. May you all keep healthy, safe, peaceful, and happy throughout this new year. I look forward to sharing it with you and to having lots more fun together.

Putting this new issue together has been really enjoyable. There is so much goodness, light, love, and energy that people are sharing with each other, that it’s a joy to behold and be able to put it all together in one journal, so you, the readers, can benefit from the many priceless gems that fill these pages. People throughout the province are being inspired to educate themselves so they can share their knowledge, expertise, and products with many others who are open to learning and growing, and keeping themselves and their loved ones whole and healthy. It has been really fabulous for me to watch the many changes that have taken place over the last twenty years when it comes to natural health and wellness. It is clear to me that more and more people are seeing the importance of taking care of themselves in every aspect of their lives. I’m excited to be part of this awakening and I look forward to all that is going to emerge in this new year. So, be sure to stay tuned as WHOLifE continues to bring you lots of good-news stories.

There are many excellent articles in this issue, however, I don’t have space to speak about all of them. I encourage you to read from cover to cover so you catch all the delights. I do want to point out that in 2016, the first of the Baby Boomer generation will be turning seventy and with that in mind, Wendy Conquergood felt inspired to write an article titled, On the Path to Healthful Longevity: The Privilege of Choice (p. 18). It is a reminder that as we age, we also are responsible for keeping ourselves in good health. Wendy says we are privileged to have choice in how we maintain our wellness, and with that in mind, she provides a long list of healthy suggestions and ideas. Way to go, Wendy!

May your new year be filled with peace, joy, love, laughter, and abundance in all things.

Namaste
(The spirit in me honours the spirit in you)
