Don’t Let Anybody Dim Your Light!
by Brenda Fedorchuk
We all have stories. We’ve all made mistakes. We all have a past and these things could define us, but they don’t have to. True power comes from being authentic and unafraid to be who we are. We all have a choice in the thoughts we choose to think. We can make a choice to consciously live our lives or to keep drifting in a sea of unconscious thoughts.
I can hear you say, “YES, BUT Brenda, you don’t understand my situation…” But, dear one, I do understand, and I hold a higher vision for the life you can have. I believe in your abilities to overcome whatever challenge you may be facing today, no matter how great that challenge is. I believe in you!
No one and no situation has the right to “Dim Your Light!” Don’t give your power to it. Don’t let your lower energy decide how you show up in the world today. This lower energy—your smallness—is often driven by your ego and creates space for the wounded victim to show up. You are not a victim!
You are not the things your family did, you are not the labels that others used to try to define you, you are not your past, you are not the mistakes you made, and you are not the situation in which you currently find yourself!
Think of your current situation and what is taking up the most real estate in your mind and your thoughts today, and ask yourself, “Is this true for me?” Is this truly who you are? Is what you think they say about you important?
It doesn’t matter what others think of you, what do you think of yourself? Who are you? What are you doing here? What is your purpose? What is your passion? Do you feel courageous enough to begin to hold that space of higher energy consciousness for yourself?
You are here for a very important reason. You have a very important role to play on earth today. Your unique gifts and talents need to be shared with the world—you make a difference in the lives of many in the world today.
One of my favourite quotes by Margaret Mead is, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
The best way to change others is to begin by changing yourself. When you change, others around you change. Nothing is wrong with you, nothing is missing in you, you are perfect, whole, and complete just the way you are.
People have problems, people have stuff to deal with, we are not perfect and you are not alone. There is hope. We don’t have to be perfect to live a life from our highest self. Others don’t need to understand your path. Your answers are here for you. If you don’t know where to begin, then learn the power in the ASK. ASK to see and ASK for support, ASK for help and ASK to create more light in your life. Begin today by asking yourself, “How can I be my best and come from my highest energy in this situation?”
So often, we are waiting to get a partner, to lose the weight, to get the new job, to make more money, for our debt to go away, for our kids to be potty trained, for our kids to leave home, or till we are somehow more perfect… and really, we waste our lives waiting for the perfect time to be all that we can be.
Are you finally ready to shift and shine your true Light? You can be that person you want to be and have the life you want to have. You already have everything you need to be, right here and right now.
Do you have time to remain unconscious and continue to live a life of suffering and misery? A life of unfulfilled dreams? How much longer do you want to wait? I invite you to embrace the quote from my teacher, Louise Hay: “I deserve the Best and I accept the Best Now.”
