Yum! Yum! Yum! Strawberries!
by Paulette Millis
Did you ever pick those delicious tiny strawberries that
grow wild here in Saskatchewan? They begin blooming in June,
with little white flowers on low plants, and the fruit comes
from late June to July. When I was a child, my brother and
I would set out for the pasture before breakfast to pick
a cupful each for our mom to put on our fresh pancakes. Were
they good! The seeds sown by birds are responsible for the
wide distribution of wild strawberries, as the seeds pass
through the birds intact. These seeds respond to light rather
than moisture to start growing and therefore need no covering
of earth.

Raindrop Technique™
Powerful Healing with Essential Oils
by Karen Macdonald
Raindrop Technique is a powerful yet gentle technique for
assisting the body in correcting defects in the curvature
of the spine. Utilizing several key therapeutic essential
oils, which are noted as powerful "infection fighters," RT
is a new weapon in combating viruses, bacteria, fungus, parasitical
types of micro-organisms, and vaccines made from live viruses.
It was developed by Dr. D. Gary Young, Naturopathic Doctor,
a leading world expert in essential oils, based on his research
with essential oils as anti-microbial agents. It is quite
common that individuals with spinal abnormalities will gain
half an inch in height with Raindrop Technique. Many people
have reported profound and immediate results such as increased
energy and relief from pain, infections, and diseases. This
highly effective technique is also being used by holistic
veterinarians as a natural healing medicine for animals.

Oil-free Travel
Why Not Start Now?
by Guy Dauncey
How will we travel, when the oil is gone? It’s not
a stupid question, or something that belongs to science fiction.
We all take oil for granted. It’s only 146 years since
oil was first drilled in North America, but in that short
time we have shaped our entire world around it. But pause
for a moment, while I show you the numbers. The geologists’ estimates
of the world’s total oil supply, laid down all those
millions of years ago, range from 2 to 2.8 trillion barrels.
We are getting through 29 billion barrels a year, and so
far, we have consumed 990 billion barrels. If we carry on
at this rate, the entire supply will be gone between 2039
and 2067. In reality, it will last a bit longer, because
as soon as we enter the second half of the global supply,
sometime between now and 2015, prices will skyrocket, causing
confusion all round and slowing its use.

Holistic Intuition
Tapping Into the Gifts of Your Subconscious
by John Living
Have you ever felt "something is not right," and,
forewarned, avoided a problem? Have you lost something and
then thought, "It is there!" (in an unexpected
place) and so looked and found it? Have you felt apprehensive
before eating something, eaten it, and had a stomach ache?
Sometimes when we meet a person we move forward in our body
(attraction) or bend backwards slightly to get away (something
undesirable). Usually we recognize our intuition only when
an especially important message is received, such as not
feeling "good" about a person or situation, or
we get an impulse to take a particular action.

Editorial
by Melva Armstrong
Welcome to our July-August 2004 issue! Once again the journal
is packed full of fantastic articles and incredible advertising.
I had a friend tell me recently that she reads all the advertising,
as well as all the articles because she feels that everything
inside the journal is interesting. She added, "And I
don't believe there are any other newspapers or magazines
about which I feel the same." I think her comments speak
volumes for the fine quality of material that is published
in WHOLifE and, in that respect, I would like to direct her
praise to all those, not merely myself, who contribute to
the journal in every aspect of it because it is the sum total
of every individual's contribution that makes the journal
what it is. My part is simply to gather the material together
and make sure everything gets done so that you have the wonderful
finished product to read and benefit from every two months.
I see it as a communal endeavour. I must also tell you that
my experience of working on each issue is rather intriguing – it
is as though there is something that guides the whole process
and magically makes it all unfold in the perfect right order.
I don't always recognize this in the midst of the process
but, in hindsight, I usually see that each issue is all perfectly
coordinated.
