Why Not Consider Homeopathy for H1N1 Virus?

With all the sensationalism of the news media over the H1N1 virus it is difficult to determine whether the threat of a pandemic is real, or if it is just a whole lot of commotion about a virus that is apt to be no worse than any other flu virus. One thing is for sure, all this ado simmering in the back of everyone’s mind is setting the stage for potential panic come fall. One might question if the tension is intentionally aroused so that the majority will not think twice about taking the vaccine when it comes available.
Until recently vaccines have been thought of as the only sure-fire way of escaping illness. While so much attention has been focused on the pharmaceutical industry’s vaccines, the homeopathic community has been quietly making history with huge strides being made in the area of prophylaxis and disease prevention of epidemics. Yes that’s right, making history! While homeopathic success has not received any attention by the mainstream news media it is, I believe, the kind of event people will want to know about especially in the face of provoked anxiety over of a possible pandemic.
While Cuba is recognized by most Canadians as place of white sand beaches and great rum, it is also heralded as having some of the best health care in the world. Unfortunately however, Cuba goes through a yearly cycle of leptospirosis epidemic, especially after the hurricanes flood the countryside and water pollution reaches its height. Leptospirosis symptoms include jaundice and kidney damage, and can cause death. Up to August, 2007, the Finlay Institute (part of the Ministry of Public Health in Cuba) had produced and distributed, at a cost of $3 million, the conventional pharmaceutical type of Lepto vaccination to the people most at risk (i.e. children, pregnant women, and the elderly). The usual expectancy of infection even with the vaccination would have been around a few thousand with some deaths included.
“Since Cuba is outcast by the US government… and is not under the yoke of the international pharmaceutical juggernaut, they are not held back from adopting homeopathy and other alternative medicines wholeheartedly into their national health programmes.” Consequently in August, 2007, the Finley Institute made a decision to use the homeopathic prophylaxis instead of the vaccination. At a cost of $200,000, the entire population of two provinces (5 million people) were provided 2 single doses of the homeopathic prophylaxis nosode remedy two weeks apart.
The results were amazing. This time within two weeks after August, 2007, the usual rising lines literally dropped off the chart to zero—ten infections only and zero deaths. And, in 2008, no deaths and infections were less than 10 per month. History made for homeopathy!
Many homeopaths have known for decades of the benefit of using homeopathy for disease prevention. Truly, it begs the question of why the average person is not privileged to hear about such phenomenal events or why homeopathy is not considered as prevention for something like H1N1. In speaking with our own Canadian homeopathic pharmacy it is only a matter of time before the homeopathic H1N1 prophylaxis remedy will be available.
As a student of homeopathic medicine I am interested in conducting some local research and compiling statistics. If there are any homeopathic supporters who are already intending to use the remedy when available, please consider participating in this study.
