Volume 15 Issue 4 — November/December 2009

In this issue, we are starting a new feature called Angels in Action. We think it is important to let people know about some of the precious and beloved services that go on everyday in our world. Services that come from the heart and soul of those who genuinely desire to serve their fellow human beings, animals, and their communities. They are the people who volunteer their time, energy, savings, homes, talents, gifts, and so much more. I think they are really angels in human form doing Creator’s work on the planet, and we feel it is important they be acknowledged and honoured.

In the 1980s, I was introduced to a taped lecture by a woman named Marianne Williamson, who gave talks on A Course in Miracles. On this tape she mentioned wanting to start a project for helping feed people with HIV and AIDS who could no longer help themselves. She felt that rather than sitting around and worrying about such problems in the world, she would actually get active and do something about them. So in 1989, she created Project Angel Food in Los Angeles and this year they are celebrating 20 years of dedicated and loving service to their community. That is truly an amazing feat and I congratulate Marianne and all those involved with this project. I feel honoured and blessed to start our Angels in Action feature with the Project Angel Food Turns 20 article (p. 24). Warning: You will feel the touch of angels when you read it!

On the same theme of service, we would like to introduce you to two light beings who are serving our world community with their magical, mystical music of chants, mantras, and songs. The article called Deva Premal and Miten’s Music is an Invitation into the Nature of Love, Devotion, and Consciousness (p. 16) will hopefully touch and inspire you when you read about their lives and how they have come to share their gifts and talents with all those whom they meet. I had the great honour of being at one of their concerts two years ago in Calgary in a neat old church and it was the most soul-touching concert I have ever attended. I have a number of their CDs, which I play daily, that create a sense of bliss inside me each time I listen to them. I hope you will find a way to hear their music so you will know what I mean. Their new In Concert CD/DVD album is really superb and watching the DVD feels just like being at one of their live concerts. They are amazing!

Each day, in my meditation, I repeat some words from A Course in Miracles that I find help me to remember that my only purpose for being here in this world is to be of service. And I think that is actually true for all of us, but we don’t all realize it. In fact, I didn’t realize it for many years. Then, when I finally did, it was the key to bringing more peace and happiness into my life. I have to keep reminding myself of this fact, almost every moment, but the more I focus on giving and serving, the easier it is to keep myself in that state of being. It reminds me of what Joseph Campbell refers to as “following your bliss”. I hope you are all finding your bliss in life.

I trust that everyone who has contributed to WHOLifE at this time, and throughout the past issues, will know, each in their own way, that they are being of service to the whole. I am truly grateful to all those who support me and WHOLifE Journal, and who support each other in our community and worldwide, as our combined energies extend and flow everywhere to bring peace and healing to each and everyone and to our Mother Earth.

I trust you will read and enjoy all the gifts that are within these pages and that you will continue to support all those who are serving the journal and our communities in so many ways.

May the shorter days and longer nights be a time of reflection for you as you go inward and find those quiet spaces to discover the truth of who you really are, and to honour yourself and those precious moments.
I trust that God will bless and support you all and may you know I love you all!

May each and every one of you have a blessed and peaceful festive season and find peace in every step.

Namaste
(The Spirit in me honours the Spirit in you)
