Wise Woman Celebration 2002! Gaea • Mother Earth • Nature
June 28 & 29, St. Andrew's College, 1121 College Drive, Saskatoon

The organizers* of Wise Woman Celebration 2002 believe in the importance of women gathering together to honour and celebrate the gifts of life. This year we are focusing our energies on Gaea, Mother Earth, and Nature and in so-doing we are presenting a series of playshops that will help remind women to reconnect with our Mother Earth through Gaea (Goddess of the Earth) and through Nature. In our busy lives we often forget to take some time each day, each week, or each month, to connect with our Earth Mother–to thank her for her enormous amount of gifts, to feel and absorb her rich energies that heal and rejuvenate us, and to remember and honour our sacred connection to Her. At this year's celebration you will have a chance to do that reconnecting, that honouring of the sacred, which will help ground you and heal you for the many months that follow.

*The Wise Woman Celebration is an annual event to honour and celebrate the beauty, power, and wisdom of women. Country Oasis, Spiritworks Books, and WHOLifE Journal are the organizers and primary sponsors.

The Healing Garden
A Place of Peace, A Sacred Space

by Gwen Stewart

The World Health Organization describes health as "the condition of perfect bodily, spiritual, and social well-being and not solely the absence of illness and injury." How many of us feel healthy spiritually, socially, and physically on a daily basis? We work in structures called "sick-buildings"; we go home so tired to care for families that we are almost unable to function; and we increasingly lose our connection with any sense of our place in the universe. How do we reclaim our lives and start to believe that we are important in the overall scheme of things?

Moving into Balance
Connecting the Body and Mind

by Laura Harris

We are like apartment-dwellers in our own bodies. Until something goes wrong, we don’t pay attention to where we are living. We make superficial changes to keep the place looking good but rarely invest in renovations. The truth is we are both tenant and landlord of our corporeal home. We have the capacity to maintain a beautiful, well-kept residence and can renovate whenever we need to. All the knowledge and resources for our well-being are housed within; the blueprints, materials, and expertise are literally at our fingertips.

The Crown Chakra and Spiritual Enlightenment
by Douglas De Long

In ancient times there were mystery schools dedicated to helping initiates explore the mysteries of life. These schools flourished in places such as Egypt, Tibet, and Persia, and were believed to have their roots in Atlantis.

It was here that seekers of truth were taught to develop their psychic and spiritual abilities through special techniques, exercises, and initiations. One of the most important initiations, or rites, from thousands of years ago, still exists today. It is called the "First Initiation Rite" or "Great Initiation Rite" and involves the toning of special chants. The high priest of the respective ancient mystery school performed this wonderful rite with newly enrolled students. This ritual took place at midnight in various locations such as, the Sacred Lake at Karnak. or in a secret chamber that existed below the Great Sphinx. The results of this initiation were profound and lasting for all who took part in it.
